COM domain registration

.COM is a top-level domain (TLD is a top-level domain), the name of which comes from the word "commercial", indicating its original purpose, ie. domains registered by commercial organizations and for commercial purposes. However, at one point, this special identity was lost when the .com, .org and .net have been opened for unlimited registration.

.COM domain registration is handled by ICANN accredited registrars. The registry assumes use in internationalized domain names.
